PRIMARY LEVEL COURSE:
After reviewing feedback from parents who asked us to look into the possibility of a course for younger students SárGhael is delighted to announce our new Primary Level Course. The course is aimed at providing an introduction to Irish Summer College to Primary School students. At present we are catering for students of 4th, 5th or 6th Class. The course will run in the same manner as our other courses but with a more focused aim at simply getting the students talking Irish. The classes will be fun and energetic and our sole aim is to show the students that Irish can be learned in an enjoyable way with their friends where they are fully immersed in the language. The rules on this course will be more lenient than on our other courses, as always we will strive to ensure that all students speak Irish but we will do so by rewarding positive effort at all times.
For students that wish to do only one week of the course we can arrange for a student to partake in either the first or second week of the course.
Course Layout
Luan - Aoine (Monday - Friday)
10:00am - 12:00pmFormal Classes: Classes are broken up into two 50 minute sessions with a short break in between.12:00pm - 12:40pmLunch*12:40pm - 2:10pmActivities**
*Students bring their own packed lunch.
**Activities: Students will have the opportunity to take part in a range of different activities including sports, music, drama, painting, swimming, competitions etc.
What is included in the afternoon activities?
We try and include as many activities as possible so that all students are doing something they truly enjoy. A questionnaire will be sent out to each student in the run up to the course to identify the areas of interest. From this we will make out mini leagues in soccer/basketball/uni-hoc etc. We will also cater for students with an interest in music, art and dance. If there are other activities that students have a particular interest in we will make every effort to include them in the evening sessions.
Clonkeen College
We are delighted to run our Primary Level Course in Clonkeen College for the second year running. Clonkeen offers us huge indoor and outdoor recreational space something that we feel is vital for Primary School students. It gives us great freedom of movement while still maintaining a very safe enclosed space that we felt better suited the needs of the primary level course. The school has just undergone a €10 million refurbishment and extension project and is now without doubt one of the finest school campuses in South Dublin.
Cost
The Primary Level Course costs €280 for the two weeks and the one week option is €180. Students may book into either the first or second week of the course. To book a course please follow the instructions here
